One of the first goals on our homestead in the spring of 2019 was to purchase a pair of milking goats. I couldn’t wait to have a little herd of my own to milk and start making Grit & Grace’s Goat Milk Soap.
It’s been a rough year and a half with our goats. We’ve lost a few due to different illnesses and I always take that so hard. But, I’ve learned so much and am very, very excited that we now have a happy, healthy herd of 5 Nigerian Dwarf does, 1 handsome Nigerian Dwarf buck, and 1 large, bossy Alpine doe.
Several of the does are starting to show the cutest little round bellies and I am hopeful that, come early 2021, we will have several sweet little baby goats running around the farm.
