A Special Piece of Grit & Grace Family History

This quilt is in the collection of the Clark County Historical Society and is on display at the museum. It was pieced together in 1912-1913 by the members of St. Paul Methodist Church, near Martinsville, for the Tague family who was moving to Minnesota.

Each church family has a square with their names stitched in it. One of those squares was dedicated to the Sharp family – father Frank and his children Everett, Eva and Goldie. Another square features the Howe family – JB and Alice and their children – Claud, Hobart, James, Ada, Ida and Lurah.

Just a few years later, on February 16, 1915, Ida Howe and Everett Sharp were married. Ida and Everett were Steve’s great grandparents – his Grandma Grace’s parents. ♥️
