Enjoying a lovely snow day on the farm. Feeling very grateful to be snuggled up at home with my family, and no one has anywhere to be today.
Steve and I spent yesterday morning prepping for the incoming weather so all the farm critters are cozy in the barn with fresh straw. Except the rooster, who take his job of patrolling the coop very seriously. And the ducks who insist on getting in their pool even though it’s freezing!
We bought a heated hose this winter and it is the BEST thing ever!
So nice to be able to fill the horse troughs with it instead of carrying buckets.
Still on puppy watch with Belle. We’re getting so close.
And I’m not sure what it is about a snow day but it makes me want to bake all the things. Homemade donuts for breakfast – cinnamon sugar, glazed, and Maple Bourbon Caramel Pecan. We have a loaf of fresh yeast bread raising now, and a ham headed to the oven later for dinner.
