On this day in 1932, Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She landed in Northern Ireland, five years to the day after Charles Lindbergh completed the first solo flight across the Atlantic.
I have always adored Amelia Earhart. She is one of my heroes and such an inspiration. What a brave, wise woman. 
“I want to do it because I want to do it.”
