Ordinary

After our trip to Chincoteague, we told a few friends and family members about the trip. After telling one of Steve’s buddies, he looked at Steve and said “Gee, never a dull moment, huh?!”

Laughing, Steve said “You have no idea!”

Driving home, I said to Steve “I don’t understand why everyone thinks our life is so exciting. We are pretty boring – we still live in our hometown, haven’t really traveled or done anything out of the ordinary.” Steve just shook his head and said “I wouldn’t call our life boring.”

Then next day, about 5 am, I received a phone call from our local post office. The shipment of young chicks that I had ordered had arrived and they needed me to pick them up ASAP. We arranged for me to pick them up in my way to work at the library in just a few hours.

Those little chicks spent the morning hanging out on my desk at the public library where I work. It was then that I thought “Maybe Steve is right. This life isn’t so boring!”
