Winnie was born in 2012, and is an absolute doll. She loves everyone and just wants to please her people.

Our sweet Winnie . . . sometimes when I look at our beautiful, happy girl this image of her as a young rescue flashes through my mind. And I’m ever so grateful that she found her way to our farm.

Winnie and Ellie Mae were adopted through a wonderful rescue facility – SHARE in Champaign, IL.
As a yearling, this precious girl was in a group of 11 horses rescued from a neglect case in January 2013. The news articles report that a dead horse was also found on the property. Rescue staff told us that Winnie was found in the stall with the deceased horse. I don’t know for sure but my worst fear for her has always been that it was her mama.
Winnie was a favorite at the rescue facility. Such a kind, gentle soul – they called her “Winnie the Pooh.” She was there six years and always overlooked for adoption because she wasn’t saddle broke yet. She had just started saddle training and was listed as ‘very green broke’ when we saw her adoption listing in 2019. She is an absolute doll – always so willing and just wants to please her people. Here are links to a couple of articles about her rescue if you’d like to read more.
