This week between Christmas and New Years is always one of my favorites. I try to save enough vacation time throughout the year that I can take this week off from work. I can’t think of a better way to end the year and begin a new one than home on the farm for a week or so.
So many fun projects to choose from this week. First up today was “Winter Sowing” some garden seeds. I read about this method a few years ago, and tried it last year. The pups were a little too helpful over the winter and spilled all of my containers. I’ve tweaked a few things like using zip ties instead of tape to hold the containers shut, and am excited to see how it goes. Twenty eight varieties of veggies, herbs, and flowers planted today. Now we just wait for Mother Nature to do the rest.

Also in the works today is a batch of goat milk soap, fresh bread, and some fleece doggie toys and pads.
